Turning Point Fall of Liberty

The first Liberty Bulletin has been posted.

The Fall of Liberty
This is our reality; a world changed forever with the Reich's invasion of New York and America in the 1950s. After the fall of the US, their worldwide occupation and domination was complete.

Now, thanks to The Revisionists only a few of us still know the full history of what transpired in those times. Stories passed down; father to son, mother to daughter. Turning Point(tm): Fall of Liberty(tm) is our story of how we - through one man - learned how to fight back. We need to expose the real truth of those first, calamitous days in 1953, the so-called "Turning Point".

Can you help us get the news out there?

Broadcasts from the resistance headquarters
Underground and on the front lines, Turning Point leader and historian Dean Martinetti answers your questions and gives you the latest news via IGN's secure channel.

The Soundtrack of war revealed
After hearing the story of the Turning Point, renowned composer Michael Giacchino lent his talents to create a haunting, original music score. Now, for the first time, the evocative soundtrack is revealed!
Performed by the 76-piece Hollywood Studio Orchestra and recorded at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, you can watch the stunning video here, on our Turning Point Youtube channel.

Anti-Cheating

Intel to support anti cheating in games
There's always one guy who seems a little too good at mowing down players in a Quake 3 session. Intel thinks future PC gamers might be interested in technology that helps level the playing field.

The company showed off a research project into "anti-cheat technology" during its Research@Intel Day at Intel headquarters. The idea is that Intel and the PC gaming industry would build technology into gaming rigs that could detect when common cheats--such as "aimbots" that handle targeting while the player just holds down the trigger--are used in an online gaming session, said Travis Schluessler, a researcher at Intel.

Cheats such as aimbots or "wall hacks" that expose players lying in wait send data to online gaming servers in unnatural patterns that could be detected by other PCs connected to the same server, Schluessler said. PCs equipped with this technology would notify a server that someone in the game is using a cheat, and then the game administrator could set a policy of kicking the cheat offline or some high-tech method of saying "nyeh, nyeh, cheater cheater," shaming the cheater and warning other gamers not to enter into sessions with that particular player.

Intel is still working out the details; don't expect to find this in a high-end gaming PC anytime soon. This also being Intel, there's more practical business-related implications for the technology as well, such as click-fraud detection. But with the amount of money that serious PC gamers spend on their rigs and software, there could be a market among those who don't want to see their investments ruined by cheaters

FRAPS 2.9.0 Released

FRAPS 2.9.0 RELEASE NOTES
The latest Fraps release adds support for Vista and DirectX 10 games. With games starting to appear using DirectX 10 graphics we are happy to report that benchmarking, video capture, and screenshots are now all fully supported for these titles.

Vista also includes a rewritten audio subsystem. Fraps can take advantage of this and directly record a sound stream from the machine without requiring any support from the soundcard driver. This allows you to capture ingame audio even if you are using a USB headset or other audio device which does not normally support a "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" recording input.

Since the Vista Desktop Window Manager (DWM) runs through DirectX we have also added a new option to monitor the desktop under Vista. You can now take screenshots and record video from the desktop just like any other game or 3D application.

---------
CHANGELOG
---------

- Added suport for DirectX 10
- Added option to monitor Desktop Window Manager under Vista
- Added Direct Stream sound recording for Vista
- Fixed screen tearing in video captured from DX9 games
- Fixed G15 LCD output running fast on Vista machines
- Improved resource sharing with multithreaded games
- Added numerous crash and compatibility fixes
